(Sept. 6, 2017) -- The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is opening enrollment to undergraduate students who were planning to attend colleges and universities in areas of the state that were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Vice President for Student Affairs Sam Gonzales and Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Mauli Agrawal have approved expedited processes to allow Enrollment Services and Academic Advising to work individually with affected students to accommodate them.
"We are honored to be able to open our doors to students who have been displaced by this disaster, just as we did in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina," said Agrawal. "We are asking all of the UTSA community to support and ease the transition for any new students who may be arriving on our campuses."
Students who previously applied and were accepted to UTSA and now wish to enroll due to the hurricane should contact Erika Cox, erika.cox@utsa.edu or 210-458-4859. The orientation requirement would be waived for these students.
Students who had not previously applied to UTSA should contact Gilbert Ugalde, gilbert.ugalde@utsa.edu or 210-458-4616. The application fee and orientation requirement would be waived for these students.
Classes at UTSA began Aug. 22, with the university enrolled nearly 31,000 students.

A crowd of judges, local organizations, students, faculty and sponsors walk around and talk to the students about their projects and ask questions.
