Educational Outreach

Outreach and educational programs for K-5 students will be delivered by UTSA faculty and students through the Educating Youth in Environmental Science (EYES) Program.

Curriculum designed around monarch butterflies will engage underrepresented K-5 students in experiences that develop:

  1. understanding of the natural world
  2. knowledge of environmental concepts and issues
  3. the role of the U.S. Forest Service in "caring for the land and serving people"

See information on the Monarch Butterfly Ecology Summer Camp for 3rd-5th graders.

Oh my gosh! Mr. Chavez, we cannot thank you enough for your visit and presentation! My students loved it! I hope we can do this again in the future. What you presented was aligned with the TEKS and made me feel better knowing the kids were getting a lesson they really needed to know. I love that we learned about Monarchs and how we can help. Thank you, thank you again!
