Anheuser-Busch Foundation Professorship in Marketing
Established in 1992, the Anheuser-Busch Foundation Endowed Professorship is awarded to a faculty member who teaches in UTSA's Carlos Alvarez College of Business Marketing program. Recognizing that demands evolve over time, the endowment was designed flexibly to ensure that emerging opportunities and changing needs could be addressed in a timely and efficient manner.

Associate Professor and Chair, Marketing

Deepa Chandrasekaran joined the UTSA faculty in 2014. Her areas of expertise include new product development and diffusion, innovation management and international marketing strategy.  

Chandrasekaran’s contributions to her field include co-authoring scholarly book chapters and publishing multiple peer-reviewed articles in leading academic journals including Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Consumer Psychology and the International Journal of Research in Marketing.

She also serves as associate editor for the Journal of Product Innovation Management and the Journal of International Marketing and is on the editorial review board for the Journal of Marketing and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.

Chandrasekaran’s teaching, service and research efforts have been recognized with numerous awards, including the American Marketing Association Global Marketing SIG Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award, the Best Paper Award at the Product Development and Management Association Research Forum, the Carlos Alvarez College of Business Dean’s Distinguished Research Award, the Dean’s Faculty Teaching Excellence Award and the Patrick J. Clynes Excellence in Service Endowed Faculty Award. 

Chandrasekaran earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining UTSA, Chandrasekaran spent time teaching at Lehigh University.
