Tammy Wyatt is a nationally recognized scholar and higher education leader whose work bridges health promotion, student success, and institutional transformation. As the Senior Vice Provost for Student Success at UTSA, she has led the development of holistic, equity-minded ecosystems that center student thriving as a strategic and scholarly imperative. A champion of data-informed practice, Wyatt has also led the creation of college-based student success centers, collaborative advising models, and a real-time analytics ecosystem to inform proactive support strategies.

With over 20 years of experience in higher education and a background in K–12 teaching, Wyatt brings a P–20 perspective to her research and leadership. Her integrated scholarly agenda explores how mental health, socioemotional well-being, and institutional structures intersect to shape student outcomes. She has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and is co-author of the forthcoming book From Serving to Thriving: Our Journey to Becoming a Student Thriving Institution.

Wyatt has secured over $33 million in external funding from the U.S. Department of Education, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, national foundations, corporations, and others to support first-generation, low-income, and historically underserved students. Her research has directly informed the design of thriving-centered initiatives at UTSA, including predictive analytics dashboards, faculty-student engagement programs, and cross-campus communities of practice.

Her work has been featured in national media and policy forums, including The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, and Diverse Issues in Higher Education. She is frequently invited to speak on topics related to student well-being, academic support systems, and innovative institutional practices. Through her scholarship and leadership, Wyatt has helped position UTSA as a national leader in advancing student success and thriving.

Wyatt earned her Ph.D. in Health Education from The University of Texas at Austin.
