EOS's Role in the UTSA Affirmative Action Plan
UTSA recognizes that equal participation of minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and veterans in all employment opportunities is a necessary component of any effective Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).
The UTSA Affirmative Action Plan has been developed and is designed to assure compliance with federal law, rules and regulations; compliance within the UT System’s Regents Rules and UTSA policy. EOS and the UTSA’s Office of People Excellence partner in developing, implementing, and monitoring the University’s AAP and affirmative action related charges.
EOS functions as the contributor of content management of the AAP and assist in identifying and engaging in actions intended to bring the university community into full participation in all aspects of equal opportunity and equal access. EOS also functions in the formulation, recommendations, implementation and monitoring of official university documents and plans relevant to affirmative action and equal opportunity.
The Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity Services (EOS) serves as UTSA's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer and is authorized to investigate complaints based on discrimination.
