Web Governance

Website development at UTSA works on a distributed ownership framework, where units maintain their respective websites with design and development guidance from the university’s centralized Web Services team.

The Web Services team, housed within University Marketing, maintains the infrastructure for the home page, UTSA’s top-level landing pages and supporting reputational web pages. The team also sets direction, governance and strategy for sites on the UTSA domain, and provides oversight for the administration of the university’s official Content Management System (CMS), Cascade.

In addition, the team provides centralized, university-wide web support within the university’s distributed ownership framework where UTSA colleges, departments, programs and units maintain their respective websites.

To promote a seamless user experience between the university’s institutional web pages and unit-specific web pages, the Web Services team provides website design, development and accessibility counsel to university partners embarking on new web projects.
