The main UTSA Data Center provides a secure and environmentally controlled center for many university critical systems.

AirRowdy Wireless Information for Faculty/Staff

UTSA's AirRowdy wireless network (wi-fi) is both 2.4 and 5 GHz capable, and covers the Main, Downtown and ITC locations.

Desktop Virtualization

OIT maintains the virtual desktop environment for a limited number of internal OIT users. This service is currently only available to OIT staff for internal use.

Eduroam

Eduroam is an access service that allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain wireless Internet access across campus when visiting other participating institutions.

Network Connectivity

The AirRowdy wireless network (wi-fi) is both 2.4 and 5 GHz capable. It covers the Main, Downtown, and ITC locations. Please note that Air Rowdy coverage does not include student housing.

Research Network

The research network is a 10-gigabit-per-second network switch that will increase the network bandwidth from one-gigabit per second. Additionally, the research Network will improve data transfer speed transfer rates.

Self-Provisioning

Self-provisioning allows end users to set up and utilize applications and services in a cloud computing environment. OIT maintains and manages the self-provisioning mechanisms that can be used by faculty and staff for creating virtual servers.

SQL (Structured Query Lanuage) Services

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

A VPN establishes a secure connection between devices and the network, thus adding extra security to Internet interactions. Many UTSA services require a VPN to use.
