Welcome to the spring semester!

Faculty & Staff    Students

Message sent to all UTSA faculty and staff:

Dear Roadrunners,

I hope you all had a restful break and are feeling energized by the return of our students and the start of the spring semester.

2019 is a very special year for UTSA – we’re turning 50! No doubt you’ve noticed the beautiful new 50th banners gracing our campuses. They are the first indicators of the big plans we have in store to celebrate this milestone.

On that note, I hope you will take a few moments to peruse our 50th anniversary website showcasing our history, collective memories and celebratory events. The site will evolve over the course of the year, so plan to visit often.

Our 50th is a unique opportunity to take stock of how far we’ve come as a university as we visualize UTSA’s continued transformation in the decade ahead. My gratitude goes to the team of staff, faculty and students who worked hard over the last several months to put together a terrific slate of programming and commemorations.

There’s more to anticipate this semester as our many strategic initiatives continue full speed ahead and our three new vice presidents roll out plans for their areas.

Of particular importance, we will be accelerating the work we started last semester to put campus-wide frameworks into place to prevent sexual violence, provide tools for civil discourse, and reinforce a culture of inclusivity through a Presidential Initiative on Diversity and Inclusion led by Dr. Myron Anderson. In the near future, I will be sharing the results of last semester’s alleged sexual assault/misconduct incident investigations and the external review of our Title IX program.

We have many milestones ahead, and I am looking forward to celebrating UTSA’s past, present and future with all of you this year.

With appreciation,

Taylor
