Herbert Ganey joined the UTSA family in 2008 when he became the UTSA Student Union's Business Manager. In 2015, Herb was promoted to the Director for the UTSA Student Union. Before coming to UTSA, Herb worked in
the Finance Office at St. Mary's University and was also a Business Manager for the New Orleans Public School system. Herb holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Education from UTSA.
Chenoa started working in the UTSA Student Union in 2017. She first started helping the students of UTSA by serving as an Administrative Assistant
and Bookkeeper for Campus Living at University Oaks in 2015. She currently plans on pursuing a degree in Business Administration and is very passionate about her new found love for yoga.
Douglas Carter: Senior Information Technical Associate
Doug joined the UTSA Student Union team as a Senior Information Technology Associate in 2018. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from
Texas State University in Applied Arts and Sciences with a Computer Information System certification. Doug has over 10 years of IT experience from Texas State University. In his spare time, Doug enjoys traveling, playing sports,
and spending time with family and friends.
DeShanna Rider: Associate Director of Business Operations
DeShanna Rider first joined UTSA in 2013 as a Disbursements and Travel Services Supervisor. She was excited to move over to the UTSA Student
Union in 2015, as the Business Manager, in order to get more involved in student development and support. She previously worked as a manager and trainer in the medical field for 16 years. She received her Bachelor's Degree in
Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University and obtained her MBA in Management from Wayland Baptist University. Her four daughters keep her busy, but DeShanna finds time to spend outdoors with her family and friends.
Jacklyn Aleman joined the Student Union family in 2015 working in the Roadrunner Express spirit store. Four years later, in May 2019, she
graduated from UTSA with a bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor in Wellness. She began working as an Accounting Technician with the Business Office in September of 2019. Jacklyn is originally from Corpus Christi and
loves the beach.
Before joining the Student Union, Iris previously worked in Student Housing as a Complex Coordinator. She received her Bachelor's Degree in
Accounting in December of 2016 and is currently pursuing her Master's in the same field. Iris loves working in the Student Union because of the relaxed, yet professional atmosphere, and inclusive family environment. Outside of
work, Iris loves to spend time playing with her dog Lilo.
Nikki Lee: Senior Associate Director of Events Management
Nikki joined the UTSA Student Union in 2007 for the exciting connection to student life, and enjoys working in a spontaneous environment where
everyday is different. She strives to be a well rounded leader with an all inclusive mindset. Nikki received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and her Master's Degree from UTSA in Higher Education
Administration. She loves traveling with her family and dogs in her spare time and enjoys reading.
Yolanda Gutierrez: Assistant Director of Events Management & Conference Services
Yolanda Gutierrez joined the UTSA and Student Union family in June 2019 when she was hired as the Assistant Director of Events Management.
Before joining UTSA, she worked in the hospitality industry for 25 years. She has a Business Management degree. She is a Marvel fan and enjoys the pool during the summer.
Andrea joined the UTSA Student Union team in 2008 after spending many years managing events for a local theme park. She holds her Bachelor's of
Business Administration in Marketing from UTSA and was thrilled to return to her alma mater. Andrea enjoys working with the UTSA community to turn dream events into reality. She is a native San Antonian who loves spending time with
her family, traveling and supporting the San Antonio Spurs.
Doyle joined the UTSA Student Union team in 2015. He is a proud UTSA alumnus who received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in 2013.
In 2014, he received his Master's in Adult Education & Community Leadership from Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia. During his studies, he gained work experience in higher education and discovered his passion for
student development and event coordinating. During his free time, Doyle enjoys listening to educational podcasts, playing video games, and spending time with his family.
Jessica began her college career at Cisco College as a student athlete. She earned an Associate of Arts Degree before transferring to UTSA,
where she began working as a Student Assistant in EMCS, and was soon promoted to Student Manager in 2015. Jessica graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor's in Art and was hired as an Event Manager. She enjoys spending time with her two
dogs Luna and Nova. Jessica enjoys listening to Indie/folk, rhythm and blues, and Icelandic music; and enjoys playing soccer in her spare time as well.
Katie joined the UTSA Student Union team as an Events Manager in 2016. She brings with her several years of experience working in the event
planning industry. Katie holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Communication from UTSA and is grateful to have a position that enables her to engage with the student population. Outside of work, Katie enjoys traveling, taking
pictures of beautiful places, learning about different cultures, and spending time with her family.
Liz Rockstroh: Senior Associate Director of Communications & Programs
Liz joined the UTSA Student Union team as the Associate Director of Communications and Programs in March of 2017. She brings with her over 10
years of experience working in Student Affairs at institutions in both California and Texas. Liz is passionate about cultivating opportunities for student learning and success through engaging campus experiences. She holds a
Doctorate in Educational Leadership from The University of California at Davis. Outside of work Liz enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Tabitha holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She initially pursued studies in Marine
Biology from Texas A&M University-Galveston, but quickly developed a passion for Student Affairs and changed fields to enjoy the energy she gets from working with students. Tabitha began working at UTSA in July 2008 as the first
Assistant Director for Programs in the UTSA Student Union. Her current responsibilities include creating consistent UTSA Student Union activities that enhance the students' experience outside of the classroom. Outside of her work
life, Tabitha loves spending time with her family and pets.
Dave Marquis oversees the facilities and operations team within the Union. He is originally from the Chicagoland area, completing his
undergraduate degrees in Political Science and History, as well as his master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration at Illinois State University. Prior to coming to UTSA, Dave worked as the Program Coordinator for
Student Involvement Systems and Space at George Washington University in Washington, DC. When not at work, Dave loves exploring parks with his dog Moose, woodworking in his garage, and playing guitar.
Robbie joined the UTSA Student Union in 2009. He has held various positions from Building Supervisor to Multimedia Technician. Prior to coming to
UTSA, Robbie was a US Army Musician with over 20 years of instrumental and live audio/video experience before retiring back home to San Antonio. Robbie still enjoys performing live music on bass in a local rock band and strives to
stay healthy and active with running and cycling.
Tony joined the UTSA Student Union team in January 2019. He was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Tony received his Bachelors of Arts in
Communication from The University of the Incarnate Word in 2010. He previously worked for the Incarnate Word as the Lead Media Services Technician, where he discovered his passion for multimedia technology. When he's not working,
he enjoys time with family, friends, and discovering new music. Fun fact, Tony was the only one of his siblings born in San Antonio, and he was named after the city.
