The Office of Student Advocacy, Violence Prevention and Empowerment provides information, resources, training and resolutions for members of the UTSA community who may have been impacted by sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, sexual harassment and/or gender-based discrimination.


Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. § 1681) is a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on gender in educational institutions which receive federal financial assistance. Title IX also prohibits sexual harassment, which includes sexual assault and sexual violence.
