President Romo to hold campus-wide forum on UTSA 2020 Blueprint
UTSA President Ricardo Romo will conduct a Main Campus open forum to give faculty, staff, students and alumni the opportunity to provide ideas for the UTSA 2020 Blueprint strategic plan.
The forum will take place on Wednesday, April 22 in the University Center Denman Room (UC 2.01.28), from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Visitors can park in the Ximenes Road Garage, next to the University Center, as they enter campus from UTSA Boulevard.
UTSA 2020 Blueprint is being designed to align resources with strategic initiatives in six key areas: educational excellence, superior student experience, strong community involvement, world-class graduate programs, superior infrastructure and innovative research and discovery.
Strategy teams have been working on benchmarks and evaluating recommended approaches to key issues, based in part on feedback from forums held since February with the Faculty Senate, Staff Council, Student Leadership Council, and faculty, staff and students at the Downtown Campus and Institute for Texan Cultures.
In addition to the forums, nearly 6,000 people have visited the UTSA 2020 Blueprint website, with many offering their suggestions and ideas for the new five-year plan that will guide the next steps in UTSA's journey to Tier One recognition.
In the next phase of the planning process, teams will develop key strategies and goals and further define targets and milestones. They will also develop a broad timeline and identify the types of resources needed for achieving those targets.
President Romo is encouraging everyone to stay involved in the planning process – faculty, staff, students, alumni and UTSA's supporters in the San Antonio community. For those unable to attend the forums, suggestions and ideas can be submitted through the UTSA 2020 Blueprint website, www.utsa.edu/2020blueprint/.
