(Nov. 9, 2015) --  UTSA students Adrian Guajardo and Manojna Kintada were named Mr. and Ms. UTSA during the halftime show at the Nov. 7 Homecoming football game. Sponsored by the UTSA Office of Student Activities and the UTSA Homecoming Committee, the award recognizes UTSA students striving for the highest levels of academic achievement, campus involvement and community service.

Showcasing some of UTSA's finest students, the 2015 Homecoming Court also included Jaswanth Kintada, Lauren Lopez, Jalen McKee, and Melanie Spiller.

Candidates competed in several categories including an application process, formal interview, a platform presentation and a student vote for the chance to be named Mr. and Ms. UTSA. While each member of the Homecoming Court would be a capable representative of the university, only two can claim the honor.

Manojna Kintada, a sophomore, biology major from San Antonio, shows her UTSA pride in many special ways. As a member of the UTSA College of Science Dean's Student Advisory Council and the Heart Health student organization, she advocates for her fellow students and helps promote healthy lifestyles. She is a member of the Indian Cultural Association and the UTSA Ambassadors, where she gives countless hours of service to UTSA. Her platform presentation centered on E-tutoring.

Adrian Guajardo, a junior, business major from McAllen, Texas, shares his enthusiasm for UTSA as a member of the UTSA Spirit Program and is a good friend of Rowdy. He serves the Student Government Association as Student Affairs Chair and has been an Orientation Leader at UTSA. He is also president of the UTSA Table Tennis Club. He has represented UTSA at many leadership conferences. His platform presentation advocates for resting stations on campus.

Adrian and Manojna will serve as the 2015 Mr. and Ms. UTSA. Through the next year, they will represent the student body and the university at a number of special events and functions.
