FEBRUARY 12, 2021 — Editor’s note: The following message was sent today via email to all students, faculty and staff:
With prolonged freezing temperatures and a wintry mix forecast for San Antonio over the next several days and into next week, UTSA will adjust its campus operations beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 14 and continuing until noon on Tuesday, February 16.
Online classes will continue on their regular schedules. In-person classes will transition to online instruction at their scheduled times until noon on Tuesday.
Students who have questions about assignment due dates and other course requirements during reduced operations should contact their professors and instructors directly.
Employees with essential job functions and faculty should contact their direct supervisor, department chair or dean with any scheduling questions.
Additionally:
UTSA Facilities crews have made preparations for freezing temperatures and the possibility of frozen precipitation, including treating streets and sidewalks. Campus walkways that accumulate ice will be blocked off. Please avoid those areas to prevent injury. The top level of each UTSA parking garage has been blocked off to prevent weather-related damage to vehicles.
Additionally, buildings at the Downtown Campus will be secured beginning Monday through noon on Tuesday. Card access will remain available.
UTSA will continue to monitor conditions and provide additional information as needed. Updates will be posted on UTSA Today and on the university’s official social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
