UTSA to conduct student experience survey to assess student climate

UTSA to conduct student experience survey to assess student climate

MARCH 25, 2021 — To advance the President’s Initiative on Inclusive Excellence, UTSA is conducting a confidential student experience survey from March 29 through April 12. The survey will assess students’ perceptions and experiences around a variety of topics, including campus life, communication, student support and inclusivity.

“As a growing research institution advancing to national recognition, it is more important than ever that we accelerate our efforts to create a collaborative and inclusive community,” said Vice President for Inclusive Excellence Myron Anderson. “Gathering the input of students regarding the campus climate will help us identify areas where new systems, policies and practices are needed to help UTSA become an exemplary environment where all can thrive.”

It is more important than ever that we accelerate our efforts to create a collaborative and inclusive community.

The results of the student experience survey will be shared with the campus community this fall. The data will establish a baseline for UTSA to periodically measure change in the university’s culture, inform institutional priorities and compare with similar institutions nationwide.

The student experience survey is administered in tandem with the faculty and staff campus climate survey carried out in October 2020. The results of the faculty and staff survey will be available and shared with the campus community by the end of the spring semester.
