SEPTEMBER 11, 2023 — The UTSA School of Data Science and Texas Public Radio invite the public to attend “Think Science: Using Data Science to Improve our City,” an hour-long event exploring some of the many way that UTSA researchers are using data to improve the quality of life in San Antonio. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12 at the San Pedro I Weston Conference Center at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The UTSA School of Data Science is inspiring and preparing a generation of diverse data scientists who can make the world more equitable, informed and secure. It is the only school of its kind at a Tier One, Hispanic Serving Institution and is home to 32 core faculty, 10 degree programs and seven certificate programs.
At this week’s “Think Science” event, attendees will hear how data science, inclusive of artificial intelligence, can affect our understanding and decisions about transportation, health care, and city planning and development and more. Discussion will include:
UTSA’s San Pedro I Building is located at 506 Dolorosa St., San Antonio, east of the San Pedro Creek. Free parking will be available in the adjacent UTSA Dolorosa Lot at 702 Dolorosa St.
Food and drinks, including adult beverages, will available for purchase from the UTSA Eatery, which is located on the first floor of San Pedro I, and may be taken into the Weston Conference Center. The restaurant will be open until 8 p.m.
