OCTOBER 21, 2024 — UTSA has been named one of 200 institutions selected to apply for the U.S. Department of Education’s Postsecondary Success Recognition Program. This invitation acknowledges UTSA’s role as an engine of opportunity and economic mobility, supporting students in earning credentials of value that prepare them for the workforce.
Launched in April 2024 as part of Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona’s Raise the Bar initiative, the Postsecondary Success Recognition Program highlights institutions that demonstrate exceptional performance in helping students from all backgrounds achieve academic success and economic mobility. UTSA was identified based on key indicators, including its use of data-driven, intentional and scaled practices to drive student success.
“This acknowledgment underscores our commitment to advancing the futures of our students, their families and communities” said Heather Shipley, UTSA provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “We are proud to be considered for the Postsecondary Success Recognition Program, which aligns with our mission to serve as a catalyst for upward mobility through education.”
The program recognizes institutions that implement evidence-based strategies to support student success, including the use of holistic advising and services to help students complete their degrees and transition into meaningful careers. Finalists will be announced in early 2025.
