NOVEMBER 11, 2024 — Editor’s note: The following message was sent today via email from President Taylor Eighmy to all military-affiliated faculty, staff and students at UTSA:
In honor of Veteran’s Day, I’d like to extend my deepest gratitude to our Veterans for your service to our nation, as well as your contributions to UTSA. The sacrifices you’ve made have not gone unnoticed, and with over 4,000 military-affiliated students and nearly 300 faculty and staff who proudly served, I am honored to have you all as members of our Roadrunner family.
This week, we have a couple of special events taking place to honor our Veterans. On November 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can connect with over 40 veteran service organizations as well as enjoy some free food and company at the Fall Veteran Resource Fair and Appreciation Event. Additionally, on November 15, enjoy some complimentary refreshments and football with your fellow Veteran Roadrunners at the Military Appreciation Football Game & Tailgate.
Your time here at UTSA is so special and is a reason for celebration. In addition to the programs listed above, I encourage all upcoming Veteran graduates to take part in our university’s second Veteran Cording Ceremony, to recognize the unique path you’ve traveled to reach this milestone.
I invite you to stay engaged year-round with our Office of Veteran and Military Affairs’ numerous opportunities to connect. Also be sure to check out their social media channels: Instagram, Facebook and X
Thank you, again, to our Veterans, for your service to our country and to our university.
