APRIL 14, 2025 — Editor’s note: The following message was sent today via email from UTSA President Taylor Eighmy and Senior Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students LT Robinson to students.
Throughout the month of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) provides an important opportunity to reflect on the issues of sexual violence and its effects on survivors. During SAAM, UTSA offers various events and resources on campus to promote healing, advocacy, prevention and survivor support.
Below are a few ways to get involved:
UTSA’s Wellbeing Services is leading several SAAM events to encourage a culture of learning, responsibility and support. Visit the Wellbeing Services website for a full list of events and more information.
Denim Day Jean Decorating
Tuesday, April 22 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Denim Day is always held the last Wednesday in the month of April, so join PEACE eight days in advance to decorate jeans with supportive messages for individuals affected by sexual violence.
Mental Health Bingo
Wednesday, April 23 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This event is an opportunity for you to learn about self-care and taking care of your well-being. Win fun prizes, drink yummy mocktails and unwind while you pet therapy dogs.
PEACE, under the umbrella of Wellbeing Services, provides confidential advocacy services to all Roadrunners who have experienced issues related to sexual assault, intimate partner/domestic violence, stalking or other sexual misconduct. PEACE Advocates provide consultations on reporting options and support to those navigating Title IX institutional and/or other processes. Advocates address the physical, emotional and academic needs of survivors to help them heal and prevent further violence.
There is no better way to be an ally than by being aware and willing to educate others. PEACE offers training, prevention and education programs to empower students with support and active practice to maintain a healthy and safe campus environment. In addition to on-campus resources, the PEACE’s signature program, Green Dot at UTSA, offers a 90-minute anti-violence online training session to help students learn strategies they can use to prevent personal violence on campus. Join the next session on Thursday, April 17, at 1 p.m.
Thank you all for your continuous efforts to increase awareness and implement critical prevention measures against sexual misconduct and violence.

Each fall and spring semester, students convene at the Main Campus at UTSA with booths, ideas and prototypes. A crowd of judges, local organizations, students, faculty and sponsors walk around and talk to the students about their projects and ask questions. Students get the real-life experience of "pitching" their project with hopes of getting funding or support to move to the next level.
