Attendance Policy
Late Arrivals:
Participants will be admitted up to 15 minutes after the scheduled class time. Participants will be considered as "No Shows" on training records maintained by Human Resources if they are more than 15 minutes tardy to the class.
Although late participants are admitted, we cannot guarantee that they will be allowed to use the software in a class that is completely full due to software licensing restrictions. Walk-in participants and those who are on the waiting list will be allowed to use the software in place of the registered participant if the registered participant is more than 5 minutes late.
If a registered participant who is more than 5 minutes late but less than 15 minutes late and unable to use the software due to a walk-in taking their place, the participant is still welcome to observe the class. Participants who observe the class will still receive credit for attending the class through Human Resources Training and Development.
Walk-In Participants:
Walk-In participants are welcome to attend software training classes. Walk-ins are admitted on a first-come/first-served basis. Due to software licensing restrictions, walk-ins are not guaranteed an opportunity to use the software in the hands-on activities. Walk-ins are welcome to observe the class if all software licenses are used by registered participants, and they will receive credit for attending the class through Human Resources Training and Development. If a registered participant is more than 5 minutes late to a class, a walk-in will be allowed to use the software license that was allocated to the registered user.
No Shows:
Participants who register for a class but do not attend are considered "No Shows" according to the training history maintained by Human Resources. Participants who are unable to attend a course should withdraw from the class at the TX Class Web site (https://utdirect.utexas.edu/txclass). Any participant who is more than 15 minutes late to a class will be considered a "No Show", and he/she will not receive credit for the class. Registered participants who demonstrate a habit of not showing up for classes may be restricted from registering for future classes, especially if the class has a waiting list.
