Giving
Signs of giving are everywhere during the holiday season. Two wonderful examples close to home:
- 64% of Student Affairs staff participated in the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), helping UTSA raise over $227,000.
- The Adopt-A-Family program was a big success within Student Affairs:
- 17 Staff Offices adopted 19 seniors and 14 families.
- 31 Student Organizations adopted 40 families.

As powerful as these programs are, they only confirm what we know about ourselves as individuals and as an organization: we are givers at heart. In fact, our individual daily tasks are, in a sense, gifts to students and the larger university community.
So as we take a short break in between semesters, we might reflect on the many wonderful ways we give in our daily work. The collective power of this "daily gifting" has a profound impact on student outcomes here at UTSA.
