Chemistry Camp - General Chemistry I | Tutoring Services

The goal of Chemistry Camp is to help participants prepare for the Chemistry Placement Test. Successful completion of the placement exam will allow students to enroll in General Chemistry I, helping them complete their degree in a timely manner.  Historically, 68% of Chemistry Camp participants, who completed the program,  placed into General Chemistry I.

Chemistry Camp - General Chemistry I

Each Chemistry Camp session is three days, generally occurring on Wednesday-Friday. During these sessions, participants have the opportunity to review basic Chemistry material with a UTSA professor and experienced upperclassman tutors. As part of the third day, participants have the opportunity to take the Chemistry Placement exam.

  • While the Chemistry Camp is FREE, participants are responsible for their own housing, transportation, parking, food, and other incidentals along with any testing fees.
  • Parking permits will be available to commuters for $5.00/day.
  • Housing is available on a first-come-first-serve basis (a limited number of rooms have been reserved for participants of the camp for a cost of $30.00/night).
  • Testing, Housing and Parking fees can be applied directly to the Student Account.
