Josh M. Beach has advanced degrees in English, History, Philosophy, and Education. He has been a teacher and educational administrator for over fifteen years, teaching an array of subjects to a broad range of students, from pre-school all the way to high school, in public and private schools, in the U.S. and in South Korea. He has been a Lecturer at Oregon State University, the University of California, and the University of Texas. He has also been an Instructor at several community colleges in Southern California and Central Texas. Beach’s scholarly research includes Studies in Poetry: The Visionary (2004), Studies in Ideology: Essays on Culture and Subjectivity (2005), and Gateway to Opportunity? A History of the Community College in the United States (2010). Beach has written a textbook, Educating for Democracy (2008), and he is a poet.
