Risk & Emergency Management
Risk and Emergency Management oversees efforts to prevent, prepare and respond to campus emergencies to lessen the lasting impact of these events. Our highest priority is to provide a safe and secure academic and research environment for the Roadrunner community.
Our team includes Business Continuity, Risk Management and Life Safety, and the management of UTSA Alerts. Our goal in Business Continuity is to prepare the campus community for any emergency that may affect UTSA campuses so we can continue to function with as little disruption as possible. We do this by developing hazard plans, programs, outreach and training. Risk Management oversees the complex operation of university-wide risk and insurance-related matters, including consultation and insurance administration, as well as fire prevention and code compliance, using engineering, enforcement and education. We also work closely with UTSA Alerts to ensure you have the information you need during an emergency.
