Adjoint Faculty: United States Army Institute of Surgical Research
The U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) is a component of the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) and is located at Brooke Army Medical Center. It is one of six research laboratories within the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command of the U.S. Army Medicine Command, and serves as the Army's lead research laboratory for improving the care of combat casualties. Eleven principal investigators from the USAISR hold adjoint faculty appointments at UTSA and are active members of the UTSA CMB Ph.D. program faculty. CMB Ph.D. students are able to pursue their doctoral dissertation research in any of these labs, which will also expose them to the subspecialty of Military Health.
