Building Our Future: Key Updates from the Divisional Town Hall

January 30, 2026

The following message was sent from Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Andrea Marks to employees in Business Affairs on the Academic Campus and in the operational units on the Health Campus on Jan. 30, 2026.

I hope the new year is off to a wonderful start for everyone. On Jan. 1, the team members in the operational units reporting to me at the health campus, as well as all team members in Business Affairs previously reporting to Veronica Salazar at the academic campus, officially came together as one division under my leadership.

Yesterday, we hosted our first virtual town hall as a combined division. I was thrilled to see over 1,000 employees join to hear updates and learn more about our leadership structure moving forward. During our time together, we covered a large volume of updates. I am sending this email to summarize the key updates and outline next steps.

Operational Integration
As we look toward the future, our primary focus will remain on operations. In the coming months, our leaders will be focused on listening and learning during a readiness phase that precedes integration. They will focus on identifying quick wins, risks, opportunities and readiness gaps.

After this phase, the launch of our integration efforts later this year will be both intentional and customized for each of our functions. The Integration Management Office will serve a critical role in supporting our leaders through a thoughtful process.

As we prepare for integration, we are also excited to develop a new name for our growing division. Business Affairs is currently used on the academic campus and is also currently used by Ginny’s finance team, while operations is used at the health campus. Our executive leadership team is developing a process to consider options for our new divisional name.

Share your Feedback & Questions
As we move forward, we encourage your questions and feedback. Please submit a feedback form to share your questions with us. We will review and share themes and questions with divisional leaders.

Looking Ahead
This is a very exciting time for our new division, and I am confident that our leaders across the academic and health campuses will support and guide our teams as we move forward. The work our teams engage in daily supports the critical missions of our world-class university. I appreciate your commitment to operational excellence while we engage thoughtfully in readiness and listening activities that will prepare us for future integration.

I offer my thanks and appreciation to each of you. It is an honor to lead our division, and you each play an essential role in our future.

I look forward to communicating updates as our work moves ahead. Thank you for all that you do!
