Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for Business Affairs

Dear Business Affairs,

I enjoyed seeing so many of you last week at our virtual Coffee Break! It was wonderful to share vacation photos, trade recipes and spend some time connecting during the summer season.

July 1 marks one year since UTSA’s integration with the Southwest School of Art. This has been a meaningful year with many highlights - over 30 new team members joined our Roadrunner community, the College of Liberal and Fine Arts established UTSA Arts and we hosted the first ever UTSA Fiesta Arts Fair. Looking forward, I am excited to continue the important work of activating spaces in downtown San Antonio as we expand UTSA’s presence in the urban core of our city.

This week we also look forward to a day off for Independence Day. Each year, I use this opportunity to think deeply about the meaning of freedom and liberty. As you reflect on this topic, I encourage you to find connections between the meaningful work we do in higher education as we create opportunities for our students.

The fall semester is already on the horizon. Thank you for your continued work to close out a successful academic year and prepare for the year to come. Your work is important and appreciated by our community. Go ‘Runners!

Sincerely,

Well Tip of the Month

Wellness Tip of the Month

July is Social Wellness Month! This month, we encourage you to break out of your fixed routine, meet new people and take the time to get to know your colleagues. Organize a team social wellness activity—take a team walk on our campus walking trails, get together to celebrate a birthday or work anniversary, or try out some of the virtual team activities available on the BA Connect website.
