April is a wonderful time of year in San Antonio as we prepare for Fiesta celebrations throughout the city and enjoy spring weather when the wildflowers are simply amazing.
As you plan your schedule for the month, I encourage you to attend the many meaningful events on the horizon. Join us for the next presentation in the Leadership Spotlight Series on April 4, featuring Sheri Hardison. All employees and students are highly encouraged to attend the Eclipse Viewing Party, coming up on April 8 from noon to 2 p.m.
Fiesta starts April 18 citywide, and two of my favorite traditions are Día en la Sombrilla on the Main Campus and the Fiesta Arts Fair at the Southwest Campus – both wonderful opportunities to support UTSA while enjoying the festivities.

Leadership Spotlight on Business Affairs: Financial Affairs
The Business Affairs Leadership Spotlight series continues with a presentation on Financial Affairs. Learn from Sheri Hardison as she shares an inside look at Financial Affairs initiatives, how fiscal resources are strategically allocated across the university, and about her own professional leadership journey. Free e-Shuttle Service Makes It Easy To Navigate Downtown
The Little Runner e-shuttle service is now available downtown to make travel quick, easy and convenient. Board a shuttle at a designated stop or call one to your location through an app or by phone. The shuttles are an environmentally friendly way to travel between downtown campuses or to explore downtown San Antonio. For information about hours of operation and how to ride the shuttles, visit the Campus Services website.
New Associate Vice President for Campus Services
Carrie Charley has joined Administration and Operations as the new associate vice president for Campus Services. Carrie brings over 25 years of higher education leadership experience to UTSA, where she will oversee areas including parking, transportation, dining and housing facilities. Carrie joins us from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she served as interim vice president of Student Affairs and assistant vice president of Campus Living, Dining and Auxiliary Services. Welcome to UTSA, Carrie!
Fiesta Parking Available at Downtown Campus
Campus Services is pleased to offer Fiesta parking at the Downtown Campus. If you have a valid UTSA parking permit, you can park as usual where your permit allows. Campus Services monitors the Downtown Campus Garage, Monterey Lot and Durango Lot to ensure permit holders can park. Guests without a valid UTSA parking permit can park for a fee (up to $25) in select Downtown Campus lots April 18-28. View details on our website. ¡Viva Fiesta!
Join the UT Living Well Spring Forward Team Challenge!
The UT Living Well Spring Forward Team Challenge starts today and runs through May 5. Join or create a team of 3-5 colleagues and take on the challenge to collectively log 4,000 minutes of activities that exercise your body and mind, such as walking, running, yoga, gardening, meditation and more. Log in to the UT Living Well platform (powered by Limeade) to join the challenge. For questions, contact UTSA Wellness.
