Dear Business Affairs,

The fall semester is underway and it’s wonderful to see our campuses full of students once again. The start of the semester also brings the return of our football season. I hope you will consider joining our first home game on Sept. 6 at the Alamodome as we show support for our student athletes!

This week, we officially reached Day One of our integration with UT Health San Antonio! We are now one combined institution — UT San Antonio. This is truly a defining moment for our university as we begin a powerful new chapter for our community.

As we set our sights on the future, it's important to pause and reflect on the journey. Over the past year, teams across Business Affairs have demonstrated incredible dedication and effort in preparing our division for Day One. I am deeply inspired by the passion and hard work that brought us to this historic moment and I look forward to the journey ahead!

Thank you for the continued support and dedication.

Sincerely,

Veronica Salazar signature

New ADA Digital Compliance Requirements

Coming Soon: New ADA Digital Compliance Requirements

As you may know, the federal government requires all digital content from public institutions to meet new accessibility requirements by April 24, 2026. This includes websites, mobile apps, documents and more. Check out the R eady 2026 ADA Compliance website to learn more about new standards and access guidance, tools, training information and more. Additionally, in the coming weeks the BA Strategic Communications team will meet with representatives from our divisional areas to explain what this means for digital materials and share the work we’ve done so far to help ensure our websites are ready for compliance.

September Is National Preparedness Month

September Is National Preparedness Month

This month, we focus on the importance of planning ahead for potential emergencies. Here are five steps you can take to stay safe and prepared:

  1. Review (and bookmark) the emergency response guide to learn how to respond effectively during an emergency
  2. Download SafeZone on your phone for a fast and reliable way to connect with UTSAPD
  3. Learn about UTSAPD's safety escorts
  4. Know where to find emergency phones on campus
  5. Make sure your contact information for emergency alerts is up to day – find instructions here under Campus Community Notifications

For questions about preparedness, contact Business Continuity and Emergency Management.

September is Suicide Prevention Month

This Month in Wellness: September is Suicide Prevention Month

September is a time to raise awareness, spread hope, and inspire action around one of the most urgent mental health issues of our time. This month, we encourage faculty and staff to explore wellness resources including the AllOne Health Employee Assistance Program — a free, confidential, 24/7 counseling and referral service for benefits-eligible employees and their families. If you or someone you know is in crisis, dial 988 to reach the Lifeline.

Additionally, all faculty, staff, and students are invited to join the Campus Connect: Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training on Sept. 9. This training aims to foster a safer and more responsive campus community.
