Participating in Commencement Ceremonies
Witnessing your students graduate is arguably one of the most rewarding experiences as a faculty member. In turn, your presence at Commencement makes this important milestone even more meaningful for our Roadrunners and their families.
RSVP by March 31st to participate in your college's faculty processional for Spring 2025 Commencement.
Ceremony One - Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 10 a.m.
Ceremony Two - Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
Need an ADA Accommodation?
Please submit your request for review at least seven business days before the event date via the ADA Accommodation Request Form.
Thursday, May 15, 2025 - 6:00 PM
All graduates receiving doctoral degrees
Arrive at the Recital Hall located in the Arts Building at a yet-to-be-determined time for check-in.

- The ceremony will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours
- Dress code: academic regalia
Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 10AM

- All faculty are encouraged to review and follow the Alamodome Safety Procedures.
- Please plan to arrive at least 1 hour before the ceremony.
- Shuttles will be provided from both the Main and Downtown campuses. The Main Campus shuttle departs from the Convocation Center. The Downtown campus shuttle departs from the Frio Street circle drive. Review the shuttle schedule in the email from UTSA Commencement.
- Once inside the Alamodome, please head to the Faculty Hospitality Room (rooms F/G) on the ground floor.
- Volunteers and the Commencement Team will greet you in the Faculty room to assist you with lining up for the ceremony.
- Seating is reserved for you at the front of the floor area.
- When it is time for the graduates in your college to cross the stage during the ceremony, staff will ask you to stand and move to form the traditional “thank you tunnel” to greet the individual graduates as they return to their seats.
- After the ceremony concludes, the stage party will exit the back of the stage.
- Once the stage party departs and while the mariachis are still playing, faculty may leave the floor to retrieve personal belongings in the faculty hospitality room.
- The shuttle will be waiting in Lot A adjacent to the loading to depart back to the Main and Downtown campuses. Please check that you are on a bus heading to your chosen location.
- The ceremony will last approximately 2.5 to 3 hours
- Please check your UTSA faculty email for additional details on transportation and event information.
