About the event:

Join the UTSA Contingent on Monday, January 15, 2018 for the city-wide march to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Junior. This event is open to all UTSA students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families.

The City of San Antonio has sponsored this march on the eastside of the city down MLK Drive since 1987. It is now one of the country's largest marches calling for peace and equity in the country on this day of honor with over 300,000 participants annually.

Event Details

  • There will be two pick up locations for Roadrunners to attend this historic event. Four buses at UTSA Main Campus in front of the Convocation Center that will depart at 9 a.m. And two additional buses at the UTSA Downtown Campus in the Durango Lot, these buses will depart at 9:30 a.m. promptly
  • T-shirts will be distrubuted while supplies last.
  • Please register online and show up at least 15 minutes before departure.

We need volunteers!

UTSA will need help checking in participants, loading the buses and distributing t-shirts. Volunteers are highly needed in both pick-up locations.

To create an open forum for the community to share ideas and perspectives on civic engagement, the UTSA Center for Civic Engagement is hosting the 3rd Annual Civic Engagement Summit on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the UTSA Main Campus located at One UTSA Circle. The theme of the summit is Exploring the Civic Identity of San Antonio. We hope that you can join us as we showcase UTSA's civic initiatives and community impact. There will be exciting panels, breakout sessions, keynote address, and a poster contest exhibit.
