DRC Info Session
Training is led by the UTSA DRC for students, staff, and faculty. The one-hour training provides an overview of the basic immigration rules and regulations that impact Dreamers at UTSA. This training also provides an overview of the resources and services offered by the UTSA DRC along with information about local initiatives aimed at supporting immigrants in San Antonio.
Dreamer ALLY training
Training is led by the UTSA DRC for students, staff, and faculty. The two-hour training provides an overview of the federal and state policies that impact the lives of Dreamers, students of mixed-status families, refugees, asylees, and individuals who have Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Additionally, training provides knowledge about the experiences of Dreamers, activities to reach a greater understanding of how the needs of Dreamers can be addressed, and tools to become allies and advocates. The training is revised regularly to reflect changes in state and federal policy.
Educator Resources
Staff and faculty allies played an integral role in supporting UTSA Dreamers in their efforts to advocate for the opening of a Dreamer Resource Center at UTSA. The DRC believes in the critically important role of staff and faculty in creating safe and inclusive spaces for productive and positive dialogue to take place surrounding the immigrant community. The UTSA DRC encourages staff and faculty to participate in an ally training.
The DRC also offers shorter, customizable sessions for staff or faculty who would like invite the UTSA DRC to present to a specific group about the services offered and/or how staff and faculty can be more involved in supporting Dreamers at UTSA and in the community.
