Center for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship

Objectives and Programs

The Center for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE) is an interdisciplinary innovation center providing all colleges within UTSA and the surrounding community with a collaborative working environment in which to explore idea commercialization. As such, CITE helps to create a pipeline for UTSA faculty, students and the surrounding business community to develop and launch new technology ventures by providing education, experience, mentoring and access to Maker Space resources.

Our Mission:

We provide space—both physical and mental—to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among all UTSA students, faculty and the San Antonio community through education, real-world experiences, resources, and support to create new technology-based ventures, serving as a catalyst for progress in the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Our Driving Vision:

  • Create an innovative, educational environment that recruits the most talented young entrepreneurs to immerse in real-world problem solving
  • Be the best source of talent for venture creation and retention in the San Antonio startup community
  • Develop the brightest and most capable individuals who understand at a fundamental level how to translate market needs into wealth creation
  • Create a funded pipeline of new startup ventures for South Texas
