Spirit of the Roadrunner

The Spirit of the Roadrunner program recognizes students who embody the spirit of UTSA while striving for the highest levels of academic achievement, campus involvement, and community service. They demonstrate the Roadrunner Creed in their daily actions and serve as ambassadors to the university at various UTSA-sponsored events throughout the year.

The new Spirits of the Roadrunner, Russel "Russ" Ogbor and Alessandro Espinosa, were announced at the Homecoming game!

Voting for UTSA Spirit of the Roadrunner

All Roadrunners had a chance to vote for two of the finalists during the week of Homecoming via RowdyLink. Candidates shared their platforms with fellow students prior to and during the election process. Voting on RowdyLink was from 12:00 am on Wednesday through 11:59 pm on Thursday during Homecoming week. Results for the winner(s) were announced on Saturday during halftime at the UTSA Football game.

Faculty and Staff Office Decorating

Show us your UTSA Spirit, Pride, and Tradition! Colleges and departments can sign up to put their UTSA Spirit, Pride, and Tradition on display by participating in this year’s Homecoming Window Wars! Show the Roadrunner community what UTSA Spirit, Pride, and Tradition look like by decorating your physical or virtual office and participating in this year’s competition.

Participation includes completing a sign-up form (linked below), decorating your space, and submitting two photos of your office to utsastaffsenate@utsa.edu before the deadline. Judging will be based on the overall spirit (50%), originality (25%), and artistic quality (25%).

Submit photos via email - due Wednesday, October 16 at 12:00 pm
Judging window designs - on Thursday, October 17 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Homecoming Window/Door Decorating Contest

Decorate your window or door in support of UTSA and scare the Owls off the field with spirited and haunted decorations. Submit your decorations for a chance to win. Judges will pick 3 winners, one winner from each of the following categories: Most Spirited, Most Haunted Roadrunner, and Best Use of Materials.
