Join Leadership and Volunteer Services for Roadrunners Give Back! Choose from a variety of service projects on and off-campus in order to give back to your community and unite with Roadrunners past and present. RSVP for a service project! Birds Up! Go ‘Runners!


Monday, October 11

Thanks Day
Monday, October 11 | 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Thanks Day is a way to show gratitude to those who support our Roadrunners. Alumni, friends, faculty, staff and even student donors provide scholarships, support programming initiatives, athletics, and valuable research across campus. UTSA students, faculty and staff members are all welcome to share a message on our giant thank you card in the Sombrilla Plaza. The Roadrunner Student Alumni Association will be handing out sweet goods like cakes, cookies, and cupcakes as a thank you. See you there! National Coming Out Day
Monday, October 11 | 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

National Coming Out celebrates and acknowledges the moment with a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community "Comes out" to themselves, family, friends, and the world. NCOD acknowledges that this process is different for everyone and can sometimes be painful and other times be joyous. For NCOD this year UTSA Campus partners will be hosting a "Coming Out" Door in the Central Plaza that will allow students to symbolically come out and share their story with the campus community.

Spirit of the Roadrunner Voting
Tuesday, October 12 | Starting at 12:00 am   

Vote for Spirit of the Roadrunner - students who embody the spirit of UTSA while striving for the highest levels of academic achievement, campus involvement, and community service. The top two candidates will demonstrate that they carry out the Roadrunner Creed in their daily actions on campus. The UTSA Spirit of the Roadrunner award recipients will be announced during the Homecoming game halftime show!

 

Golf Cart Parade of Prizes
Tuesday, October 12 | 1:00 pm

Be on the lookout for our SGA Homecoming Golf Cart Parade of Prizes! During our campus version of CashCab, members of SGA will be traveling around campus in golf carts, picking up students to give them a ride to class and the opportunity to win BestFest tickets that can be used for food, drinks and fun! Make sure to study up on your UTSA trivia; it might just come in handy!

 

Take Back the Night!
Tuesday, October 12 | 6:00-8:00 pm 

Join the UTSA PEACE Center for an evening of art, poetry, survivor support and reaffirm your commitment to ending violence on our campus in the Sombrilla Plaza. The evening will include an empowerment march through campus, guest speakers, and an open microphone for survivors to speak out against the violence they have experienced.

Window Wars - Faculty|Staff Office Decorating
Wednesday, October 13 | All-day  

Show us what UTSA Spirit, Pride, and Tradition look like in your physical office or virtual office by participating in this year’s Window Wars! Windows, Offices, or TEAMs Meetings submissions need to be completely decorated and photographed by Wednesday, October 13 at 8:00 am. Judging will take place Thursday, October 14 between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Sign up to be included in the judging process. 
 

Health Nest: Alcohol and Consent

The Wellbeing Services Peer Educators will be doing outreach in the Central Plaza on Wednesdays. Stop by and play some games and learn about preventative health measures!

Racial Justice Book Club at UTSA
Wednesday, October 13 | 2:00 pm

The Racial Justice Book Club at UTSA is an avenue for discussing issues of race, race relations, and racial justice. We will be reading and discussing Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas every Wednesday for the month of October. Cemetery Boys is a magical, emotional story about finding the courage to show everyone—including yourself—who you really are, with some terrifically creative fantasy thrown in. 


Coach Traylor Radio Show

Homecoming Blitz

UTSA Student Activities is hosting an event at the Downtown Campus during the week of homecoming. Homecoming Blitz is your traditional spirited event that takes place during UTSA’s Homecoming week of events. Join us for activities, food, and get ready for the homecoming game. Homecoming Blitz will be in the Bill Miller Plaza at the Downtown Campus.

 

Union Night Live
Thursday, October 14 | 7:00 pm

Roadrunners can grab a few laughs with a special comedy performance from DeRay Davis, Darren Brand, and Billy Sorrells! These comedians are best known for their frequent appearances on MTV’s Wild 'N Out! Roadrunners can also kick back and enjoy a talent showcase from UTSA organizations and students! The doors open at 7:00 pm and showtime is 8:00 pm. The show is open to UTSA students only and seating is limited.

 

Homecoming Soccer Game vs. UAB
Thursday, October 14 | 7:00 pm

Join UTSA Soccer as they are off to the best start in program history with a record of (6-4-1). Transportation from Campus to Park West will be provided for this game. Park West is just a short 5-minute drive from UTSA Main Campus. Admission and parking are free for everyone!

Roadrunner Experience Showcase

Undergraduate and Graduate student competitors will present on their internships, research, immersions, leadership opportunities, and more! Join the Najim Center, University Career Center, Alvarez College of Business, and Leadership and Volunteer Services for the final round as industry judges select individual and group winners. RSVP to attend this fourth annual event.

2021 Homecoming Golf Tournament sponsored by Sherwin Williams
Friday, October 15 | 1:00 pm Shotgun Start

Join Campus Recreation for a 4-person, 18-hole scramble, which will be held at Canyon Springs Gold Club located at 24405 Wilderness Oak, San Antonio, TX 78260. This is a homecoming event for alumni, current students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of UTSA. The money raised from this event will be used to assist Campus Recreation student staff with attendance fees to national and regional conferences/workshops, which further their education and exposure to the fields of leadership development, university recreation, fitness and wellness, facility management, outdoor recreation, and higher education. This event has sold out but details can still be found on the Campus Recreation website.

BestFest

Join us to celebrate UTSA during Homecoming week at BestFest 2021. This year’s event will feature dozens of foods, beverages, and game booths (all hosted by student organizations), carnival rides, a surprise-themed area, fireworks, and a concert! Check out this year’s headlining concert and more information about the event by visiting the BestFest website today!

Spirit Walk

Join the Roadrunners at Roadrunner Alley and cheer them on as they arrive at the Alamodome. Roadrunner Alley is the large walkway between Alamodome Parking Lots B and C. 

 

Student Indoor Tailgate
Saturday, October 16 | 3:30 pm

This new gathering spot for students will occur inside the Alamodome. Students are invited to connect, cool down, and vibe before the game. It’s a great way to meet new people with all the fun of a tailgate. Free food and beverage will be available while it lasts. Door prizes include Game Concession Vouchers and UTSA apparel. Of course, it wouldn’t be Game Day without a surprise or two.  Join us for some fun and excitement before the game.  Remember, it’s always 72 degrees in the Alamodome! 

 

Pre Game Concert

Don't miss out on more pre-game Homecoming fun! UTSA Athletics will be hosting a pre-game concert in the H-E-B Plaza, on the north side of the Alamodome featuring Curtis Grimes.  

 

Homecoming Football Game vs. RICE

The Roadrunners will take on the Owls for the 2021 Homecoming Game. Be sure to look out for the announcement of Spirit of the Roadrunner at the game. Purchase your home football game tickets. Tickets for current UTSA students.
