The Office of Equal Opportunity Services (EOS) is responsible for monitoring and coordinating all Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity procedures including compliance with search procedures for the university. Faculty positions available at The University of Texas at San Antonio are to be described fully in advertisements according to title of the position, qualification requirements, and duties; and qualified applicants are to be sought from a wide range of sources. In order to communicate the availability of positions to a broad range of qualified candidates, such positions are to be advertised in appropriate professional journals, newspapers, and other media. When advertising, the media selected should include sources which provide for maximum feasible exposure to minorities and women. Notification should also be sent to graduate institutions in the state and nation as appropriate to the qualifications of the position. All advertisements of positions are to carry the notation, "The University of Texas at San Antonio is an Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply." All advertisements of faculty positions are to be reviewed by EOS in advance of publication to ensure that the qualifications specified correspond with the job description and the needs of the university.
