Jason King

Jason King is UTSA’s Associate Vice President of Strategic Risk Management and Chief Legal Officer. As UTSA continues moving toward its bold destinations, he strategically manages institutional risk while providing comprehensive legal advice to university leadership.

Mr. King leads an umbrella of teams under the President’s Office to ensure consistency with the university’s mission and serve the best interests of UTSA, including its duties to follow the law and meet its obligations to the public, governments and third parties. He works alongside university leadership to protect and promote integrity and ethical conduct, practice preventive law and enable stakeholders to accomplish institutional objectives. 

Most recently, Mr. King served as the chief compliance and ethics officer for the University of Texas System Administration, where he re-established the Office of Systemwide Compliance, which coordinates hundreds of compliance professionals across UT System institutions, mitigates billions of dollars per year in risk, and protects students, faculty and staff from harm.

Prior to UT System, Mr. King worked as an associate for Akers and Boulware-Wells, LLP and served as assistant general counsel for the Texas Ethics Commission. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from The University of Nebraska and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor University. Jason is a licensed attorney in the State of Texas and is a certified compliance and ethics professional. Jason and his wife Jill are the proud parents of three children, Dante, Natalie and Emma.

 


Sarah Pryor

Sarah Pryor

Sarah Pryor is a Senior Associate Counsel at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Ms. Pryor has nearly two decades of practice experience in contract, technology and real estate law. Prior to her representation of UTSA, she represented Fortune 500 technology and information technology services companies in complex technology transactions. Ms. Pryor is originally from Berwyn, PA, and is a graduate of Pomona College and Duke University School of Law.


Natalee Marion

Natalee Marion

Natalee Marion is a Senior Associate Counsel at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Prior to her representation of UTSA, she served as an advisor to private businesses and public-sector employers, including colleges and universities, on a range of employment-related matters. Ms. Marion previously served as an associate attorney for Littler Mendelson, PC, an assistant attorney general for the Office of the Texas Attorney General, a law clerk for Magistrate Judge Pamela Mathy of the Western District of Texas, and a briefing attorney for the Eleventh Court of Appeals in Eastland, Texas. Ms. Marion is from San Antonio, Texas. She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, and the St. Mary’s School of Law.


Kristi Godden

Kristi Godden is a Senior Associate Counsel at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Prior to joining UTSA, Ms. Godden provided counsel to public and private schools and universities throughout Texas. Ms. Godden’s practice focused on open government and records retention laws, employment and labor issues, student affairs, and institutional compliance. Ms. Godden is originally from San Antonio, and is a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law.


Terii Lopez

Terii Lopez, CP, Senior Legal Assistant, joined The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Office of Legal Affairs in 2009 and provides specialized support concerning employment and discrimination matters. Terii received her BA in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL and is a Certified Paralegal with the National Association of Legal Assistants.

Laurie James

Laurie James, Senior Legal Assistant, joined The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 2011 in the Office of Legal Affairs. She provides specialized support in contracts and legal research, and assistance with a variety of legal issues. Laurie is a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio with a BA in global affairs, holds an AA from Northwest Vista College, and is a graduate of the UTSA Paralegal Program.

Kathleen Blanton

Kathleen Blanton is the Open Records Manager in the Office of Legal Affairs at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She is responsible for processing open records requests per the Texas Public Information Act. Ms. Blanton joined the Office of Legal Affairs in 2015 and has 22 years of experience as a paralegal. She earned her BA Degree in English from James Millikin University and is a graduate of the UTSA Paralegal Program.


Virginia Galloway

Virginia Galloway is the Senior Administrative Associate in The Office of Legal Affairs at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She is responsible for all administrative duties for the Legal staff.  She also assists departments with approvals of Outside Counsel billing with the Attorney General’s office. Virginia joined UTSA in October 2007.
