UTSA Rocks RecycleMania
Recycling Runners Rank Third in Texas in International Competition

UTSA placed 3rd among 15 Texas universities participating in RecycleMania, an eight-week intercollegiate competition. The competition started on February 4 and ended March 31, 2018. UTSA placed 51st out of the 228 colleges competing across the United States and Canada to recycle more as a percentage of overall waste.

Our collective effort helps our campus maintain a strong focus on recycling all year long. With the support of student organizations, UTSA has participated in this competition for 11 years and plans to continue this tradition. "We aim to get into the top 10% of participating schools," said Richard Garza, Environmental and Construction Safety Manager. "We’ve got our sights set on surpassing UTMB and UT Austin soon."

Business Affairs thanks UTSA faculty, staff, and students who have been strong allies during this campaign. We are proud that the Roadrunner community continues to demonstrate its commitment to a culture of sustainability.
