We would love to have you join us in serving the student body. There are a variety of opportunities available for you to participate in SGA: you can run for an open Senator seat, you can be appointed as an Executive Branch Director, or you can learn the ropes of SGA as an active member.

General Assembly Meetings

Visitors are always welcome at General Assembly meetings, which take place Bi-Weekly at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays. You may make announcements or ask questions at the very beginning of the meetings. Many senators hang around after meetings to further discuss issues with their constituents.

Become a Senator

The primary way to become a senator is via elections, which take place in spring. If you wish to be a part of the Senate, you can file for a seat when elections open. 

Senate seats are dictated by school (e.g., COLFA, COEHD, COS, etc.) and classification (e.g., freshman, sophomore, etc.).

Elections

SGA Elections Committee - The mission of the Elections Committee is to provide a fair and open process by which students elect representatives to the Student Government Association College & Class positions. Students interested in running should attend an interest meeting at the beginning of the semester to learn about open positions.

  • The SGA general elections are held during the fall and spring via an online voting process through RowdyLink. A special election is held during the fall semester to fill vacancies of the SGA positions left from the general elections held in the spring.
