Student Affairs Administration - Office of the Dean of Students

The Student Affairs office provides guidance and oversight to departments, programs and services within Student Affairs ensuring that students have a seamless connection to share feedback and engage in vibrant campus life experiences. The office includes centralized functions supporting student-centric efforts including addressing student concerns, communications, fiscal administration, strategic planning and assessment, professional development, student traditions, and the Family Association. Student Affairs assists UTSA students in feeling connected, supported, and cared for as they reach their fullest potential both academically and personally. 

About the Dean

LT RobinsonLaTonya (LT) Robinson serves as the Senior Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).  She provides leadership and oversight to ten Student Affairs departments that are focused on providing a vibrant campus life experience, student engagement and leadership opportunities and services for wellbeing.

Ms. Robinson values service and support of students and their families as well as to the university community with honesty, effective communication, competency, respect, and a dash of humor. She enjoys team building and brainstorming ideas in order to provide the innovative opportunities and support for students.

She came to UTSA in July 2017 as the Director of Student Life Initiatives in Student Life with more than 18 years of experience in student affairs. During her time at UTSA, Ms. Robinson also served as the Assistant Dean of Students and Student Leadership Center Director, and Interim Dean of Students and Student Leadership Center Director, until June 2019 when she was appointed to her current role.

Prior to UTSA, she served as a Program Manager, Area Manager and Hall Coordinator at The University of Texas at Austin and as a Residence Hall Coordinator at East Carolina University. After earning her bachelor's degree at Sam Houston State, she earned her master's degree from Western Illinois University. Ms. Robinson is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

She envisions student engagement, marketable leadership skills, impact dialogue and strategies for self-care and wellbeing as being an integral part of students’ path to success. Ms. Robinson is a first-generation college student and is passionate about supporting first generation college students at UTSA.
