UTSA is preparing the next generation of diversity and inclusion leaders

UTSA is providing its students with the tools they need to address contemporary issues related to equity and social justice.

Through its Equity and Social Justice Peer Facilitator Program (EJPF), the UTSA Multicultural Student Center for Equity and Justice (MSCEJ) is training students who are passionate about advancing equity and social justice on campus and educating their peers to do the same.

Launched in 2020, the EJPF was designed to provide students with the skills to manage and guide conversations related to racism, sexism, heterosexism/heteronormativity, homophobia, transphobia, voting rights and disparate treatment of Black and Indigenous people of color.

“Having students lead these conversations helps model our university commitment to inclusive excellence and builds students’ comfort with discussions across differences and identity,” said Brandi Scott, director of the Multicultural Student Center for Equity and Justice.
