Application | Access College & Excel

The Access College and Excel (ACE) Scholar Program is designed to help make a university education more accessible to socioeconomically challenged students. For the purpose of this agreement, a socioeconomically disadvantaged student is defined as: a first-generation college student, a student who identifies as an orphan/ward of the state, emancipated minor, under legal guardianship, unaccompanied youth, are or has been at risk of homelessness, or has a history of foster care; a student who qualified for free or reduced school lunch; students who are single parents; and/or a student who works part-time to finance their education. ACE promotes academic success and helps clear the path to graduation through learning communities, tutoring, individual advising and supplemental instruction. Selection of Alvarez ACE Scholars will be at the discretion of the program leadership, with coordination with Endowment Services and Compliance.
Application and When to Apply
The ACE application opens every December and closes early February or late March depending on amount of applications submitted.
