AUGUST 30, 2021 — UTSA and the surrounding community is brighter today thanks to a week-long volunteer effort from Roadrunner Days service projects.
The annual event traditionally kicks of the fall semester with projects that focus on issues facing the UTSA community, from hunger to environmental clean-up to campus beautification. Volunteers had the choice to participate in person or in virtual service events.
Roadrunner Days wrapped up on Saturday, August 28, with five projects taking place on Main Campus. More than 60 volunteers showed up to lend a hand.
“Roadrunners installed plants all over Chaparral and Laurel Village. Our campus Bioswale area, the VOICES Adopt-a-Spot, and the Roadrunner Garden received amazing care and clean-up. The Whataburger Resource Room was fully restocked with items for our UTSA community,” said Victoria Rodriguez, program manager for UTSA Leadership and Volunteer Services. “Our office would like to thank all our volunteers who helped and for their commitment to enhance our campus and community.”
More than 80 volunteers took part in Roadrunners Days service projects throughout the week. Take a look at the “Birds who served” on Saturday in the following slideshow:
