FEBRUARY 3, 2023 — Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 University Excellence Staff Awards.
Recognizing extraordinary leadership, service and contributions by UTSA staff, the awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge employees whose dedication to the university has gone above and beyond.
The deadline to submit nominations is February 17, 2023.
The University Excellence Staff Awards, together with the President’s Distinguished Faculty Awards and the President’s Distinguished Diversity Awards, will be announced at UTSA’s annual University Excellence Awards ceremony this April.
Categories for this year’s staff awards are listed below. Nominees must be a current UTSA staff member to be eligible. Nominations should encompass employee achievements from the 2022 calendar year. Additional requirements may apply for specific awards.
In addition to the staff-only awards listed above, staff may also be nominated for the President’s Distinguished Diversity Award. These awards are bestowed upon faculty, staff and students whose work has helped the UTSA community think about and practice diversity and inclusion in creative and collaborative ways. The nomination deadline for this year’s Diversity Awards is February 11, 2023.

Weather permitting, experienced astronomers will provide a handful of telescopes of varying designs, give training on how each operates, and point to various astronomical objects that may appear in the sky for that given time of the year. If you have a telescope and do not know how to operate it, feel free to bring it and get instructions on its use.
