OCTOBER 23, 2023 — The UTSA Main Campus has been designated an early voting site for the November 7 joint constitutional amendment, general, special, charter and bond election. Votes can be cast from October 23 to November 3.
The ballot includes 14 proposed state constitutional amendments and candidates for the San Antonio River Authority director at large position. It also includes general and special elections for the City of Converse, City of Helotes, City of Hill Country Village, City of Schertz, City of Windcrest, the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District and the Green Valley Special Utility District.
Registered Bexar County voters can cast their ballot in the H-E-B Student Union Bexar Room (HSU 1.102) on the UTSA Main Campus. Free voter parking is available in the northern section of the Ximenes Lot just south of the H-E-B Student Union.
Those at the Downtown Campus can vote early at the nearby Bexar County Elections Department located at 1103 S. Frio St. in San Antonio.
Voters must present an approved form of photo identification.
Visit the Bexar County Elections Department to check your voter registration status and access a sample ballot. Those needing assistance with Braille or curbside voting can call 210-335-VOTE (8683) or use the website to find information on additional accessibility options.
Looking for more information about the constitutional amendments and other items on the ballot? The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan, all-volunteer, grassroots organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, has published a voter’s guide that includes helpful information, including QR codes that direct voters to short videos that explain each proposed constitutional amendment. Voters may also visit Vote411.org to download a customized ballot that can be printed and taken inside of the voting booth.
The UTSA Office of Civic and Community-Engaged Leadership team invites currently enrolled UTSA students to participate in elections-related trivia that will take place @UTSAEngaged on Twitter/X, Instagram and Facebook. Winners will receive a gift bag of Civic and Community-Engaged Leadership-branded items, including a water bottle, notepad, lanyard and a pen.
