MARCH 25, 2024 — A new UT Health San Antonio outpatient and surgery center, UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway, is now open, near the southeast corner of Loop 1604 and Kyle Seale Parkway on the UTSA Park West Campus, less than two miles from the UTSA Main Campus.
The new facility is the most recent outcome of a collaboration between UTSA and UT Health San Antonio to develop and leverage their combined capabilities and expertise.
“The completion of our newest medical facility represents a significant milestone in providing exceptional health care services,” said Robert Leverence, MD, FACP, vice dean for clinical affairs and executive director of UT Health Physicians. “Our team of dedicated health care providers is excited to welcome patients and build lasting relationships within the community.”
UTSA and UT Health San Antonio officials welcomed the opening of the new facility located at UTSA Park West Campus.
In 2021, UT Health San Antonio became the official health care partner for UTSA Athletics providing student-athletes with access to the health science center’s distinguished physicians and clinicians for primary care, physical therapy and other specialties, and for imaging and surgical services.
“Our continued partnership with UT Health allows us to provide world-class care to our Roadrunner community, especially to our student-athletes, coaches and staff who are competing at higher levels than ever before,” said UTSA President Taylor Eighmy. “I’m immensely grateful to Dr. Henrich—whose vision and legacy will live on through his impactful work—his colleagues at UT Health and my colleagues at UTSA for continually collaborating to create new opportunities for wellbeing that make our university a great place to learn, work and discover.”
UTSA is committed to the well-being of its faculty and staff through a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that allows all benefits-eligible faculty and staff to receive special discounts when they use the UT SELECT medical plan at UT Health Physicians, the clinical practice of UT Health San Antonio, and the new UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway location. Discounts include reduced copays for both primary care and specialty providers and lower coinsurance rates.
“UTSA’s strategic collaboration with UT Health will bring convenient and high-quality health care services to our benefits eligible employees on-site at our Park West Campus,” said Veronica Salazar, UTSA executive vice president of business affairs and chief enterprise development officer. “This access to affordable and exemplary health care aligns closely with our efforts to enhance the campus experience and supports UTSA’s goal to be a great place to work.”
UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway is a five-story, 108,000-square-foot medical facility delivering primary, specialty and surgical care. Patients can receive primary care, lab work, imaging, specialty care and day surgery all within this full-service outpatient facility.
UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway offers primary care, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, otolaryngology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapy, and urology services. Patients also have access to the latest diagnostic laboratory testing and convenient imaging services including MRI, CT scan, X-ray and ultrasound. Starting in mid-April the facility will open its ambulatory surgery center with four modern operating rooms.
In the future, UT Health San Antonio could support UTSA’s academic and research enterprises, such as multidisciplinary education, research and training activities aligned to the university’s Classroom to Career Initiative. The program aims to expand the availability of learning opportunities for UTSA students of all levels and programs of study. Guided by its 10-year strategic plan, UTSA is working toward its goal of providing 75% of its students with hands-on learning opportunities by the time they graduate.
