Professional Schools look for applicants who seek to enrich their personal growth by taking on additional opportunities that expand their worldview, provide insight on innovation or discovery, or connect to big-picture issues. The Rowdy Corps Community Scholars is a community-based federal work study program that connects UTSA students with some of San Antonio’s leading changemakers. The Rowdy Corps Community Scholars program provides the opportunity for work study eligible students to apply their skills and learning in real world settings

Summer Enrichment Programming

There are a variety of summer opportunities that can provide pre-health professions students with the resources and experiences they need to learn more about their professions of interest, build better clinical or research skills, and become stronger candidates for health professions programs in the future.

View opportunities that are offered throughout Texas and across the nation. Because some program applications can be due as early as January, it is important to begin researching opportunities early.

Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP)

SHPEP is a summer enrichment program focused on improving access to information and resources for college students interested in the health professions.

Texas A&M Summer Pre-Dental Enrichment Program (SPEP)

SPEP Collegiate II is a six-week program which provides college and post-college students an opportunity to prepare for and successfully take the DAT, strengthen their academic science background, and learn more about the field of dental medicine.

UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry Learning Enhancement for Achievement in Dentistry (LEAD)

The objective of LEAD 1-3 is to provide opportunities for college students to strengthen their academic science background, prepare for and successfully take the DAT, improve leadership qualities, and increase the knowledge of a career in dentistry.
