As we are all getting over the holiday season, let me be the first to welcome you back to the UTSA Downtown Campus and wish you a very happy new year. I can only hope each and every one of you had a very restful holiday break are ready to begin a new semester and a new year.
The fall semester started with the Downtown Campus Roadrunner Days that included the President’s Picnic in the Bill Miller Plaza. This was followed shortly by the official pep rally right before the first home game against Texas A & M – Commerce.
The semester continued with regularly scheduled classes and a number lectures from the College of Architecture, College of Public, and The Mexico Center, as well as conferences and seminars hosted by the Institute of Economic Development.
Before we knew it, the holidays were upon us as we celebrated with our annual holiday luncheon and what’s become our traditional Holiday Saxophone concert.
As this newsletter demonstrates through its many articles, we continue to have a lot of special events at the Downtown Campus. What follows is but a glimpse of those events that occurred during the fall semester.
I want to thank you for your continued support in facilitating the education our students receive, an education of the first class.
Jesse T. Zapata, Ph.D.
