The UTSA Downtown Campus Spirit Award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Downtown Campus community-a beautiful example of loyal facuty and staff who have gone beyond their job responsibilities to make the academic experiences at this campus, a rewarding one for all of our students, faculty, and staff.

During the spring semester, Fred Hample was selected to receive the Downtown Campus Spirit Award.

Fred Hample joined the staff in the Office of Admissions and Registrar in May 1973. He has served as an Assistant to Director of Admissions and Registrar (1974-1976), Assistant Registrar (1976-1979), Associate Registrar (1979-2005) Director of the Downtown Registrar’s Office Operations (2005-2007) and currently holds the title of Executive Director of Downtown Student Affairs Operations. He is a member of the Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO), and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). He recently was recognized for his 40 years of employment with The University of Texas at San Antonio.
