Downtown Campus Spirit Award
The UTSA Downtown Campus Spirit Award is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Downtown Campus community – a beautiful example of loyal faculty and staff who have gone beyond their job responsibilities to make the academic experiences at this campus, a rewarding one for all of our students, faculty, and staff.
During the fall semester, the Downtown Campus E-Newsletter Committee selected Deborah Riley as the recipient of this award.
Deborah Riley joined UTSA on November 1, 1984 and was one of the original staff to work at the new Downtown Campus in the Fiscal Service Department. In March 2012 and in addition to her regular job responsibilities, Deborah was made the Business Affairs Liaison to the Downtown Campus. Since that time she has been involved with the changes in our custodial services; has worked with the City of San Antonio when the Buena Vista Street corner of the Downtown Campus had to be reconstructed for the new VIA Primo buses; the Way Finding Campaign (new signs on buildings and directional columns); Recycling Mania; repainting of the street crosswalk and stairs in front of the Frio Street Building. This just names a few of all of the changes at the Downtown Campus in which she has been involved.
Congratulations, Deborah, and thank you for being so committed to the safety and beautification of our Downtown Campus!
