Cyber Incident Management




This course introduces IT leaders and managers to the means and principals necessary to improve their ability to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents.  This course teaches the why and how of creating an Incident Response Plan and an Incident Response Team. The course gives participants the tools needed to develop or improve their own organization’s Incident Response Plan and Team.

Scope

The following topics will be covered in this course:

  • Why create an incident response plan and team
  • Key components of an incident response plan
  • Composition of a Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT)
  • Information sharing and fusion

Who Should Attend?

This class is for senior managers such as a CIO, CSO, CISO, or Director who bears the responsibility for creating, maintaining or managing a Cyber Incident Response Team.

Prerequisites

Participants may or may not have a technical background.  Participants should have a basic understanding of risk management and business continuity and they should also understand how technology is implemented in their organization.

Course Length

The next course will be February 10 - 12, 2015 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with a one hour break for lunch.

Provided Materials

Lecture and reference materials are provided.
Courses are held in the North Paseo building at the main campus, room 3.120.

Please have a valid credit card ready as you will be providing payment during the registration process.
